Technical Working Groups
Within APSN, the research integration activities aim
to achieve the following general objectives:
- To provide near future strategies in conjunction with APSN
workpackage 2 on strategy, policy and legislation in order to
promote a integrated/coherent approach within the research in
passive safety, through the identification of gaps to be covered
within the several working groups and the definition of a structured
joint research programme(s) of activities
- To identify and maintaining links as well as integrate running
projects and other networks, at EU and national level, involving
activities related to passive safety
- To promote the sharing and the dissemination of the results
achieved through the level of integration reached in the different
fields of the Working groups.
- To provide quality assessment criteria and measures for research
integration.
These activities are coordinated within the workpackage
4 led by TU Graz and co-led by Chalmers University.
This workpackage 4 is organised in 5 technical working
groups:
- Real-world Accident and
Injury Data including Medicine and injury costs,
- Biomechanics, dummy development
& test methods,
- Virtual testing & modelling,
- Material technologies &
vehicle structural crashworthiness,
- Integrated safety including
restraint systems.
Around these themes, on the working group level, integration
activities are directed at sharing and developing common use of
research infrastructures, equipment, tools and platforms; the
provision of guidelines & standards, facilitating comparison
between technologies and identification of research needs and
exploitable results.
