UG1 Passenger cars, pedestrians & children
The User Group 1 is led by Crainfield Impact Center
and co-led by TU Berlin. Its activities have
been tailored so that the requirements of industry and legislative
bodies can submit their views and opinions in open and frank discussions.
A market preview amongst partners is re-examinating
user needs and technology requirements which would be needed to
encourage greater integration and co-operation. It is vital that
all partners contribute to this document, which will be revisited
at various stages throughout the project and not only the first
18 months.
All partners are encouraged to draw on their experiences from
other industries outside of the main focus areas of passenger
cars, pedestrian and children. These new technologies/experiences
will be demonstrated at discussion sites or through postings on
this website.
Small groups of partners will then focus on the three core areas
of the user group; passenger cars, pedestrians and children. Within
these groups future possible research activities will be identified
and formulated. Gaps which appear during current activities will
also be addressed. Future trends especially in terms of categorizing
changing vehicle usage and future restraint technologies will
also be investigated. These smaller groups will feed into the
main user group, along with information from the proposed Advanced
Protective Systems Integrated Project (APROSYS),
especially pedestrian/cycle safety and car accidents which are
being led by CIC and TRL respectively.
