Previous Networks

The APSN network has been built thanks to the effort already been developed earlier. Indeed, the mobilisation of critical R&D mass on vehicle passive safety has already took place under previous EU Thematic Network projects: the PSN1 & the EVPSN2.

The European Vehicle Passive Safety Network 2 was the successor of the PSN1 which started in 1998. All together, the effort of vehicle passive safety research integration started in 1996 with the first ideas being initiated of a possible PSN. The last 8 years of efforts led to the creation of APSN having now the challenges of creating a Virtual Centre of Excellence as a self-sustaining permanent legal entity.
