Organisation

The members are regrouped within the APSN General Assembly composed of representatives of all network members. This assembly:

  • elects the APSN Executive Committee (ExCom) every year,
  • approves the accounts over the past year,
  • acquits the ExCom over the past year, and
  • approves the Joint Programme of Activity for the next year.
  • Furthermore, it decides upon: the strategic plan, new memberships and exclusions, proposals to the European Commission and budget (re)allocation.

APSN Executive Committee is composed of APSN workpackage leaders and chaired by the network coordinator. The Executive Committee is in charge of maintaining the management of the Network, its operability, planning, control and the preparation of decisions of the General Assembly.

The Network Co-ordinator (TNO Automotive) is responsible for organizational and administrative support such as, information management, Network administration, contractual issues, etc.

Both, the General Assembly and the Executive Committee, are supported by an Advisory Committee composed of stakeholder representatives. The Advisory Committee has the power to issue recommendations to the General Assembly and the Executive Committee on: common vision for the Network, policy issues, harmonisation & standardisation issues, and research integration.

In order to achieve and to carry out the Joint Programme of Activities for the first 18 months, the Members have defined workpackages. For certain workpackages (4 and 5), working groups and user groups have been selected, which can be seen as a subdivision of a line of activity. Each workpackage, working group and user group consist of a team. Each workpackage, working group and user group is chaired by the designated (co)leader appointed for such task by the General Assembly. Each leader is responsible for the coordination of the activities allocated to the respective workpackage, working group or user group in the Plan of Activities.
